FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS OF ALGEBRA

Image
FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS OF ALGEBRA   Arithmetic quantities are represented by numbers that represent given values.  For example, the number 5 represents the value of five and if we want to express another quantity we must choose a number other than 5.  Unlike Arithmetic, in Algebra quantities are studied in a general way, using quantities represented by symbols that are not only numbers but also others such as the letters of the alphabet that can represent any single value.  A letter represents any value because that symbol will assume the value that we assign to it, and is unique. After all, within the same problem that letter cannot represent another value other than the one we have assigned.  The range of problems that can be solved through algebra is extensive and to face a problem it is required to transform the situation into algebraic expressions containing symbols and signs.  symbols   Numbers  They are used to represent known quantities and ...

Operation of integers

Integers Integers are negative whole numbers, zero and positive whole numbers. They cannot be in fraction or decimals form. Negative whole numbers are Integers less than zero, i.e <0. Negative whole numbers are also numbers on the left from zero in the number line. Examples of negative whole numbers are; -1,-2,-3,-4,-5,-6 etc. Zero is a whole number which is neither positive nor positive. Zero is part of integers in the number line. Positive whole numbers are integers greater than 0, i.e, >0. Positive whole numbers are also numbers on the right side from zero in our numbers line. For example, +1,+2,+3,+4,+5 etc.Can be written with or without positive sign “+” for example 1,2,3,4,5 etc.   but negative whole numbers, negative sign “-” MUST be included. Integers are always represented on a number line at an equal interval, which is equal to one unit. Positive whole numbers contain both odd, even and prime numbers. Prime numbers are integers greater than 1 which are d...

Topology of numbers

A topology of numbers  Natural* Introduction  Topology is one of the most modern branches of mathematics and  its relationship with other areas of this science is fundamental.   The study of  topology focuses on qualitative properties and not on quantitative ones  of mathematical objects, its extensive development has given rise to different areas, such as topology: algebraic, differential, sets, geometric.   The present work belongs to the topology of sets.  In the bibliography the reader will be able to find sources for each of these topics.   The topology of a set  Any set can be given a structure of topological space.  To do this, it is enough to distinguish a family Ï„ of subsets of X, whose  elements are given the name of open subsets of X. Such a family  must satisfy the following three properties:  a) the total space X and the empty set ∅ are in Ï„ ;  b) the arbitrary union of elements in Ï„ is als...

The importance of mathematics in our daily life.

The importance of mathematics in the daily life of children – and not so children .   Understanding the different disciplines that are grouped within the field of mathematics can be complicated. It is one of the most difficult and hated school subjects and has brought students of many generations upside down. Added to this difficulty is the fact that we currently have devices capable of performing mathematical calculations easily, quickly and efficiently. This makes students wonder (and ask us) why they should learn to perform these operations manually when there are machines that do it for us.   Understanding the practical applications that mathematics has in our daily lives is essential to understand and learn them in a much easier and more intuitive way. In addition, upon discovering their great practical utility, interest in them grows and, as a consequence, they are learned much better. And it is that mathematics is much more than numbers and operations. Thanks to ...

In addition, insulin ensures that more fat is stored in your body, which you then have to burn again. A low-carbohydrate diet, therefore, has the following advantages: It boosts your fat burning! It usually keeps y...

Prepare for jee Physics and Mathematics exam

Basic Physical Quantities in measurement They cannot be obtained from any other  physical quantities. We've seven basics quantities according to the International system of Units (SI units). Basic physical quantities and their SI unit together with Symbol of units; Length  SI unit is metre (m). Mass  SI unit is kilogram (kg). Time  SI unit is second (s).
